Absolutely gorgeous headstall with silver and plaiting perfection! This one-of-a-kind piece is beautifully done in the highest quality materials featuring Engraved solid sterling by Don Wise of Kustom Kraft silver and kangaroo braiding by the renowned Gail Hought. I believe this piece to be re-leathered, as it does not carry the Hought marking. Fortunately, the quality and identification in the fine work is noticeable from a mile away! 
Gail is primarily known for her artistic leather braiding skills. The western world recognized her exceptional talents, when the first of several articles appeared in WESTERN HORSEMAN magazine featuring examples of braided tack including bosal sets, for which she is most noted, romal reins and several headstalls styles.
Gail retired from nursing to take up her artistry with long-time husband and partner, Eric Hought. He added the strap and leathergood component to their collaborative family designs.
